CALL TO ORDER
Chair Hoffman called the Conference Committee meeting on HB
284 and HB 285 to order at 3:03 p.m.

analysts with the Office of Management and Budget and
Legislative Finance Division; and aides to committee
members and other members of the Legislature.

Vice-chair Thomas MOVED to ADOPT the chair's recommendation
on the following items for the Department of
Administration:
Item 4 - Senate.
There being NO OBJECTION, it was so ordered. The action
closed all conferencable items in the budget for the
Department of Administration.

DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Vice-chair Thomas MOVED to ADOPT the chair's recommendation
on the following items for the Department of Commerce,
Community and Economic Development:
Item 2 - Senate; Items 3 through 6 - House; Item 7 -
Senate minus $50,000; Items 8 through 15 - Senate;
Items 16 through 21 - House.
There being NO OBJECTION, it was so ordered.

DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS
Vice-chair Thomas MOVED to ADOPT the chair's recommendation
on the following items for the Department of Corrections:
Items 1 through 3 - House; Items 4 through 6 - Senate;
Items 7 and 8 - House; Item 9 - Senate plus
$2,174,000; Item 10 - Senate; Item 11 - House.
There being NO OBJECTION, it was so ordered. The action
closed all conferencable items in the budget for the
Department of Corrections.
Chair Hoffman reported that the next scheduled meeting
would be posted on the following day.
Senator Stedman asked Louanne Christian, House and Senate
Finance Committee Assistant to stand and read a statement
in recognition of her upcoming retirement and her 27 years
of service to the committees. He remembered that when he
and Senator Hoffman had become Senate Finance Committee co-
chairs there had been restructuring and Ms. Christian had
been put in charge of both the House and Senate Finance
Committee assistant/secretary teams in order to synchronize
their working relationship and make information more
accessible to the public. He expressed that Ms. Christian
would be missed and thanked her for her work.
Ms. Christian replied that she would miss the committee as
well.
Chair Hoffman echoed Senator Stedman's comments.
Co-Chair Thomas thanked Ms. Christian on behalf of the
House Finance Committee.

consideration.
HB 285 was HEARD and HELD in Committee for further
consideration.
